    2015 Fratelli Brovia Barolo

The diversity of Barolo is staggering. Violets, truffles and cherries are not always created equal. Some are rich, some are pure, some are sensual and many leave you wanting more. I don't know what that last sentence means, but I couldn't think of a better introduction to one of my all time favorite Barolos: Fratelli Brovia. As alluded to, this is ethereal Barolo. With age, Brovia's Barolo gets to be incredibly sleek, lean with immense earth and pounce. The elegance is something you would see with a grand cru Burgundy with that delicious crunchy earth that is only seen in top of the line Barolo.  2015 is soon to be a classic vintage in the works and Brovia is always a classic producer. It's a perfect match!

2016 Harmand Geoffroy Gevrey Chambertin: Can they Get Any Better?

Harmand Geoffroy comes from a handful of Burgundy producers that for about a decade now, I have been touting and selling to private customers. The prices have always been spectacular. The quality magnificent and the style old school. I had a chance to try a handful of the 2016 vintage below and as I am still shocked as to how people have not picked up on the quality of these yet and my supply is always in abundance. Seriously people, I don't what you have going on today that is so important but you better get on these. This is the next best thing in Burgundy!

2006 Nebbiolo @ Killer Price: One of the Best Deals This Year!

Folks, we have an incredible deal this week. One for the history books. To give a little background: We love Alto Piemonte here at Some Good Wine and in particular, aged Gattinara. Coming in 3rd within the Nebbiolo hierarchy behind Barolo and Barbaresco, Gattinara has the potential to be just as illuminating, and 99% of the time, an extremely better QPR (quality price ratio).

    2017 Paul Pillot White Burgundy

I'm so excited to finally be working with the legendary Paul Pillot, whose wines I have not been able to get my hands on the last couple years. If you don't know Paul Pillot is, don't worry. They are known amongst the in-crowd. Those people at tastings sniffing and giggling away in the corner like a couple of school girls. You can be one of them. Or you could have knowledge and hide it. Your choice, but the point is that you should get your hands on these. 2017 is a stellar year and the wines keep better and better.

Duo of Natural Red and Orange Wines from Azienda Cirelli

The word Abruzzo conjures up a variety of images. Those fortunate enough to have traveled here can testify to the scents of sea permeating the air, the diversity of flora and fauna; the people, the hospitality and the wine which tastes out of this world while there.....but always falls short when back home. Yes. Abruzzo. The stick on the label. The jug placed in the center of your fine dining table at the Olive Garden. That Abruzzo. There is no doubt about it, wines from Abruzzo do not historically have a great reputation here in the U.S.  Help me change that. #ImwithAbruzzo
