93 Points Gilman: "The 2020 Côte du Py bottling from Domaine Desvignes is decidedly riper than the la Voûte Saint-Vincent, as this wine comes in at 14.5 percent octane in this vintage. These vines are 115 over seventy years of age and located up at the top of this hillside vineyard. The wine offers up a deep, sappy and quite pure bouquet of black cherries, pomegranate, pigeon, a complex base of stony soil tones, a touch of raw cocoa, sweet stem tones, woodsmoke and a topnote of dried roses. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and nascently complex, with a rock solid core of black fruit, excellent mineral drive and grip, firm, ripe tannins and a long, well-balanced, structured and very promising finish. This is a classic example of Côte du Py that will require extended cellaring to develop some generosity, but it will be an excellent drink for many decades, once it is ready to go. 2030-2065. "
