2016 Ruggeri Corsini Barolo Bussia

From the monumental 2016 vintage, this is arguably the cheapest cru Barolo (called Bussia) you will ever find; should be one to age for a decade or two plus, but this has the extended beauty of being able to be drank right this second.  Medium-deep ruby red color and strong off the cuff orange oils. Fresh nose with loads of cherry; sweet and bitter, followed by dense candied flavors, plums, dried figs, prunes and bush fruit. Dark chocolate and herbs on the palate with tons of mouth watering licorice and vanilla.  A Barolo that fits neatly in the middle of the old-new, dichotomy with some new oak, but loads of traditional, down to earth flavors.
