2019 Girolamo Rosso Feudo Etna Rosso
Feudo is a single vineyard wine from a contrada in Randazzo. It sits 650-670 meters above sea level and the vines are now over 70 years old. The entire vineyard is around 10 hectares but only the oldest 1 hectare parcel of vines is selected for the single contrada bottling. The wine is almost entirely Nerello Mascalese but also have very small amounts of Nerello Cappuccio since the varieties are co-planted.
So freakin pretty and classy. This is a beautiful wine. Lighter and more nuanced than the San Lorenzo with sheer elegance and finesse. The new born baby of wines, if new born babies could dance like Liberace. Wild berry and fire ash on the nose, wit hints of tobacco and licorice. This is magic on the palate with Vosne Romanee structure.
