2024 Loewen 'Alte Reben' Riesling

This is a cuvée of various plots between 50-70 years old, and you will note it doesn’t say "Trocken" and that's because the Loewens prefer not to have to wrestle the fermentation to get below the legal limit for the "Trocken". Letting the fermentation "stop when it's done" results in a much more balanced wine.

JS 95 Points: This is an unusual entry-level wine. The cool side of the peach notes makes itself very clearly felt, pulling you into a web of intense, slatey minerality. Very stony finish, although the acidity is moderate. Excellent aging potential. From vines up to 70 years old. Vegan. Drink or hold.
