2015 JB Becker Riesling Rheinberg Kabinett Trocken

For reasons I can't exactly explain (alright, I probably can) this smells more mature, though in a lovely and fresh way. The reason I *think* this is the case, when compared for example to the Rheingberg Kabinett Trocken, is that the higher level of residual sugar (still probably only 15 grams?) puts the fruit more front and center and the fruit is, well, ten years old. So it's evolving in a lovely, waxy, golden apple, bruised pear direction. It's super though, the wine that is, with a nice herbal freshness too.
