2012 Janasse Chateauneuf du Pape "Vielles Vignes"IPO
Another favorite of mine, but different than the Chaupin. Hard to pick a favorite. 85% Grenache and the balance Syrah, Mourvedre and Clairette. More pronounced berry fruit and spicebox. Toasty and fiesty with exuberant licorice and roasted meats. Exhibiting gorgeous black fruits, spice-box, toast, licorice and roasted meat-like qualities on the nose. Very concentrated and layered with a lot of texture yet surprisingly light weight on the palate yet delivering so much punch.
