100% Chenin. Pinon selects some of its flatter, more clay-rich parcels totalling a tiny 0.6 hectare for its sec bottling (their flintier silex soils would render the dry wine too aggressively austere to be balanced for the Pinon palate). The wine is grown and made identically to the other still white Vouvrays and the vines average 30 years old. Lovely round and soft texture with slightly honeyed and baked apple aromas which are subtle and allowing flamboyant acid to arise.
