2017 Prefert Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve August Favier
/ Single Bottle
95-97 Points Jeb Dunnuck: The 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve Auguste Favier offers more kirsch and blackberry fruits as well as ample charcoal, earth, licorice, and spice nuances. It's full-bodied, incredibly concentrated, layered, and pure, with sweet tannin. It's slightly more elegant than the 2016 but has terrific concentration. Proprietress Isabel Ferrando has taken her Saint Prefert estate to France’s highest level, and she’s unquestionably making some of the most profound wines on earth today, including both reds and whites.
